If you want to measure the current vitality and breadth of Irish culture in New England, visit the Irish Cultural Centre of Greater Boston in Canton, Massachusetts any time of year.  First opened in 1989, the Irish Cultural Centre is a multi-purpose gathering place for year-round music and dance, learning, seasonal events, sports and socializing.

Its headquarters houses function rooms, classrooms, a library, pub, and a locker room downstairs for various sports activities. The three-season outdoor tent is used by the Centre for special events, and can also be rented for weddings, parties, meetings and family reunions.

Situated on 61 acres of land, the Centre has state-of-the-art playing fields for Gaelic games, a children’s playground, an authentic Irish cottage, walking and hiking trails, and plenty of parking spaces for visitors.

Christmas season is special at ICC, as families, friends and neighbors gather to celebrate this beloved holiday on the Irish calendar.  Annual events include the Christmas tree lighting, a breakfast visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus and a senior appreciation luncheon. A centerpiece of the month is an Open House and Grand Raffle Drawing on December 13, which raises programming funds for the coming year.  Musical highlights include vocalist Chloë Agnew’s Celtic Christmas concert on December 5, Meadhbh Walsh – Irish Christmas in the USA on December 11 and An Irish Christmas with Ishna featuring Irish tenor Ciaran Nagle and fiddle star Tara Novak on December 21.
