Boston Harbor Hotel Ushers in a New Era

The majestic Boston Harbor Hotel (BHH) along the city’s waterfront has embarked on a dynamic new chapter in its storied legacy, with a series of bold renovations and an expansive vision for the future.
Boston’s only Forbes Five-Star waterfront hotel is reaffirming its place as one of the city’s most iconic and forward-looking destinations, with reimagined meeting and event spaces, elevated wellness offerings, innovative culinary concepts and the return of a redefined Summer in the City concert series.

“Our newly renovated meeting and event spaces were designed to set a new standard for modern, state-of-the-art gatherings,” says BHH General Manager Stephen Johnston. “With advanced, built in technology, refined contemporary design, and abundant natural light, each room delivers one of the highest quality meeting experiences available in Boston. Every space captures magnificent views of the harbor, creating an inspiring backdrop that elevates every event — from executive board meetings to grand celebrations.”

The multi-phased transformation across the hotel began with the debut of several signature spaces that reflect the brand’s evolving vision:
The Dark Bar:
Formerly Rowes Wharf Bar, this reimagined cocktail destination is an intimate, atmospheric space just beyond the hotel’s iconic archway. A curated spirits program, inventive mixology, and moody design create a sophisticated new anchor for Boston’s nightlife.
Rowes Wharf Health Club & Spa:
Now fully renovated, the club features a state-of-the-art fitness studio outfitted with Matrix, Escape, and Peloton equipment, a golf simulator, private fitness pods, and an all-gender sauna. Locker rooms have been completely redesigned, while the refined pool and lounge area now features expanded space, infrared saunas, and a hot tub.

“This moment represents more than a series of renovations,” adds Johnston. “It marks a renewed vision — a commitment to preserving the essence of Boston Harbor Hotel while enhancing every aspect of the guest experience for the future.”
Dandelion Coffee & Provisions:
Located just off the lobby, this new marketplace brings a warm, approachable energy to the hotel. Dandelion serves as both a vibrant community gathering spot and a go to destination for locally inspired coffee, pastries, and curated provisions.

Looking ahead, Boston Harbor Hotel plans to continue its forward momentum with several highly anticipated projects, including the launch of a new waterfront restaurant, a full transformation of the Wharf Room — the hotel’s grand ballroom — and the revitalization of its luxurious guest rooms.
Adding to the excitement of this new era is the return of Summer in the City, the hotel’s beloved waterfront concert series, now completely reimagined for 2025. This season features an all-new lineup of live music across jazz, soul, country, and contemporary sounds — plus exciting weekly pop-up activations, interactive experiences, and student musician showcases every Friday evening.

Guests can also enjoy a reinvented Summer in the City menu with coastal cuisine and seasonal drink offerings served al fresco on the Rowes Wharf Sea Grille patio and Harborwalk Terrace.
With these enhancements and activations, Boston Harbor Hotel continues its legacy of embracing modern luxury and timeless New England charm with innovation, community, and hospitality.
