Irish American Partnership, Boston

Irish organizations flourish throughout greater Boston and across New England, with a range of subjects such business and philanthropy, immigration and religion, women’s networking, music and culture, county clubs and sports teams. Here are four of these Irish organizations to know about.

Irish Pastoral Centre Boston

On June 7, the Irish Pastoral Centre in Adams Village, Dorchester hosts the annual Deer Island Memorial Mass on Deer Island in Boston Harbor, where a Celtic Cross stands in homage to Irish famine refugees who were buried in the 1840s. IPC also holds monthly traditional Irish music sessions at its Centre in Adams Village through the summer – on June 22, July 20 and August 17. On July 22, IPC joins the Rian Immigrant Center as part of Ireland Day at the Armenian Heritage Park along the Rose F. Kennedy Greenway. This community showcase features live music and Irish soda bread tasting.

Mná Mheiriceá

This summer, Mná Mheiriceá is launching a brand-new Podcast called “Mná at the Table.” The podcast will feature candid conversations with women from all walks of life, including entrepreneurs, public servants, trailblazers and more, as they share their journeys, challenges and the communities that support them. The podcast is part of Mná Mheiriceá’s mission to celebrate all it is to be a woman and reminds us that there’s always a seat at the table. Founded In 2023, Mná Mheiriceá is a Boston-based women’s network that hosts women centered, professional, wellness and social events year-round.

Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann

Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann (Irish Musicians Association) is a worldwide organization promoting Irish music and dance, with a particularly strong Boston chapter. The Boston Comhaltas Music School is a unique community education program that provides Irish musical instruction for adults and children. Instruments include fiddle, flute, tin whistle, button accordion, guitar, bodhran, harp, tenor banjo, mandolin, concertina, uilleann pipes and voice. The classes are conducted online on Saturday mornings during the school year. Fall classes begin in mid-September and run for 10 Saturdays. Spring classes start in January and run through May. Award-winning fiddler Aoife Griffin from Co. Roscommon was named director of the School in March 2025.
