Boston Tourism Group Releases Summer 2025 Travel & Culture Magazine


June 4, 2025 – The Boston Irish Tourism Association (BITA) today released its 2025 summer/fall issue of Travel & Culture magazine, a free publication highlighting New England’s Irish and cultural communities, as well as travel tips for visiting the island of Ireland.
Travel & Culture offers an array of New England concerts, music festivals, literary events, holiday celebrations, sporting events and cultural activities from June through December, as well as travel ideas for visiting Ireland in 2025, such as golfing, Irish music festivals, food festivals in the fall and Halloween activities in October.
The 48 page magazine is available free at tourism outlets, cultural centers, government offices, museums, retail shops and Irish venues in New England, and online at irishboston.org/magazine.
Travelers can read about Boston Logan International Airport‘s new customer service credo, Going Above and Beyond, and find details on MBTA Ferry service, which goes to the airport and to various Boston neighborhoods and nearby cities and towns.
Boston, Quincy and Merrimack Valley are among the Massachusetts places highlighted in this issue, along with iconic destinations such as Boston Harbor Hotel, Omni Parker House, John F. Kennedy Presidential Library in Boston, John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum on Cape Cod and Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
Signature events in Boston include the Hozier concert at Fenway Park in June, HarborFest in July, Dine Out Boston in August, Seisiun Festival of Irish Music and Culture in September and the Charles River Regatta in October.
Featured events in Quincy, which celebrates its 400th anniversary in 2025, include the Annual Flag Day parade in June, the new Maritime Festival at Marina Bay in July, and concerts by music legends John Fogerty and Darius Rucker in August.
Merrimack Valley features a summer of Celtic delights, including Gaelic Storm at the Lowell Summer Music Series in June, renowned traditional ensemble Solas at the Lowell Folk Festival in July and the annual Lowell Irish Music Festival in September.
The Irish Cultural Centre in Canton is a hub of Irish activities this summer and fall, from live concerts, lectures and family activities to Gaelic Athletic Association games, a 5K road race and a beer festival.
In New England, featured outdoor music series include the annual Boston Harbor Hotel’s Summer in the City Series at Rowes Wharf in Boston and the Lowell Music Series. Outdoor summer festivals include the Milton Music Festival, Glasgow Lands Scottish Festival, Seisiun Festival, Rockport Celtic Music Festival and Lowell Irish Festival. Numerous live concerts are presented at Shalin Liu Performance Center in Rockport, Blackstone Valley Theatre in Cumberland, RI and Spectacle Live concerts throughout New England.
The magazine’s regular “Women in the News,” column profiles Meet Boston tourism trailblazer Martha Sheridan, JFK Library leader Rachel Flor and novelist J. Courtney Sullivan. “On the Bookshelf” includes five book reviews while the “Gift Shops” page features local Irish stores and museum shops. Also included are calendars of upcoming theater productions and author readings, and details on Ronan Noone’s new online course in playwriting.
A story on New England’s Role in the American Revolution profiles two anniversaries in June – the Battle of Machias in Maine and the Battle of Bunker Hill in Charlestown.
Included in each issue of Travel & Culture is a walking map of the Boston Irish Heritage Trail, one of Boston’s premier walking trails. In 2025, the Trail is adding new landmarks in Boston’s downtown and neighborhoods, with plans to expand to greater Boston cities and towns, and eventually to include all of Massachusetts.
