Following the exuberance of an Irish summer, fall arrives gradually in Ireland, taking its time to blend into a colorful, easy pace with more room to move and an endless number of things to do. Outdoor hikes, heritage explorations, cultural performances and museum exhibits will surely work up an appetite for visitors, and in that spirit, here are two of our favorite food festivals to check out in Ireland this fall.

DINGLE FOOD FESTIVAL
October 3-5

The 2025 Dingle Food Festival is proudly the first Irish “Zero Landfill Waste” festival in Ireland, part of the Sustainable Ireland Movement sweeping across the island!

More than 150,000 food tastings are slated through the weekend, and festival goers are encouraged to bring their own bowl! Or they can buy a Dingle Food Festival bamboo pack (bowl, platter, and cutlery set) onsite, or rent stainless steel bowls for the weekend.

The Dingle Food Festival Masterclasses, sponsored by Bia Dingle, the Corca Dhuibhne Food Network, feature top chefs and culinary experts. These sessions offer hands-on learning and insider tips to elevate your cooking skills.

The Taste Trail and Market Stalls are the epicenter of the Festival, with the Taste Trail featuring 60+ local businesses – restaurants, pubs, cafes – showcasing the town’s vibrant culinary scene. The Market Stalls has 50+ outdoor food stands lining Bridge St., Greys Lane and Orchard Lane. The amazing culinary atmosphere is topped off with outdoor live music and street entertainment.

Masterclasses led by top chefs and culinary experts offer hands-on learning, while workshops inspire and educate food enthusiasts of all levels.

SAVOUR KILKENNY FOOD FESTIVAL
October 24-27

Set in the beautiful town of Kilkenny with its famous castle as a backdrop, the annual Savour Kilkenny Food Festival has become one of Ireland’s largest and most popular food gatherings, and with good reason!

The festival features 100+ street food and artisan producers from across Ireland, free cooking demonstrations with leading chefs and rising stars, dining specials at local restaurants, and health and wellness talks and workshops.

Plus, there are plenty of activities for families and children, food lovers and tourists. On Saturday, October 26, the Concert at Castle Park is an open-air concert that celebrates Kilkenny’s unique traditions of food, culture, and community.  The concert is also a seque to Kilkenny’s celebration of Halloween!
