Fall into Ireland

Following the exuberance of summer, fall arrives gradually in Ireland, taking its time to blend into a colorful, easy pace with more room to move and an endless number of things to do. Here are some of our favorite ways to explore Ireland this fall.
GALWAY INTERNATIONAL OYSTER AND SEAFOOD FESTIVAL
September 26-28

The Galway International Oyster and Seafood Festival
at Nimmo’s Pier, Galway City, is a feast of fresh oysters and seafood delights. A highlight of the festival is the World Oyster Opening Competition, where the best oyster shuckers gather from all over the globe to test their speed, agility and skills to claim the coveted Champion of Shuckers award.

DINGLE FOOD FESTIVAL
October 3-5
The 2025 Dingle Food Festival is proudly the first Irish “Zero Landfill Waste” festival in Ireland, part of the Sustainable Ireland Movement sweeping across the island!
More than 150,000 food tastings are slated through the weekend, and festival goers are encouraged to bring their own bowl! Or they can buy a Dingle Food Festival bamboo pack (bowl, platter, and cutlery set) onsite, or rent stainless steel bowls for the weekend.

The Taste Trail and Market Stalls are the epicenter of the Festival, with the Taste Trail featuring 60+ local businesses – restaurants, pubs, cafes – showcasing the town’s vibrant culinary scene. The Market Stalls has 50+ outdoor food stands lining Bridge St., Greys Lane and Orchard Lane. The amazing culinary atmosphere is topped off with outdoor live music and street entertainment.
Masterclasses led by top chefs and culinary experts offer hands-on learning, while workshops inspire and educate food enthusiasts of all levels.
