Take the MBTA Ferry to Explore Boston from the Harbor

The MBTA’s Ferry Service in Boston Harbor is a terrific way to experience the beauty and hidden treasures of historic Boston Harbor, while also visiting downtown Boston, neighborhoods such as Charlestown, East Boston and South Boston, and surrounding cities and towns including Lynn, Winthrop, Quincy, Hingham and Hull.
For daily commuters, taking the ferry is the perfect way to reach downtown Boston, the Seaport District, Charlestown Navy Yard or Logan International Airport, while avoiding rush hour traffic on the highways. The service offers commuters a pleasant and relaxing way to start and end their workday.

Travelers can take this scenic and convenient way to go to Boston Logan International Airport from points around Boston Harbor and the South Shore, including Hingham/Hull to Boston’s Long Wharf as well as Winthrop and Quincy.
For tourists, the MBTA Ferry Service opens up a world of natural beauty and discovery on Boston Harbor from Lynn and Winthrop north of the city to Quincy, Hingham and Hull south of the city. The seasonal service runs from spring to fall, so that visitors have an optimal experience of exploring several notable destinations.
These ferry routes serve inner harbor stops at Logan Airport, Charlestown Navy Yard, the Seaport District, Long Wharf and Central Wharf at the New England Aquarium.

The Winthrop and Quincy Ferry has been upgraded this season by doubling the number of weekday trips. To better serve ferry passengers this summer, weekday trips are divided into separate routes: the Winthrop Ferry operating directly between Winthrop and Boston and the Quincy Ferry operating directly between Quincy and Boston. On weekends, the MBTA continues to operate a combined Winthrop and Quincy Ferry route serving all destinations.
Lynn Ferry service goes from Blossom Street in Lynn to Long Wharf in Boston.
The Hingham/Hull Ferry operates year round on weekdays, with weekend service seasonally. It stops at Long Wharf, Rowes Wharf, Logan Airport Ferry Terminal, then to Hull and Hingham. Passengers on the Hingham/Hull Ferry can also go to Georges Island, part of the Boston Harbor Islands.
