The Irish Cultural Centre is a perennial winner when to comes to sports – one of Ireland’s greatest pastimes! From Gaelic games to golfing and running, there’s always something afoot at the Centre.
GAA Games
Each summer the Centre hosts the exciting summer season of Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) games, including football, hurling and camogie.

As the permanent home of the Boston GAA, the meticulous playing fields of the Irish Cultural Centre hosts 45 member GAA clubs from across the region, including Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Connecticut and Rhode Island.
The GAA season runs from early May through the end of July, followed by the playoffs with the semi-finals, the weekend of August 2-3 and the finals on August 9-10.
Golfing
Rory McIlroy is just one of a legion of Irish who enjoy a good game of golf, and the folks at the Irish Cultural Centre are no different.

Enjoy a day at the links at ICC’s 35th annual Golf Tournament at Beaverbrook Golf Club in Canton, on June 27, 2025. As one of the ICC’s oldest and most important fundraisers it is also a ton of fun for duffers and putters who enjoy camaraderie and supporting a worthy cause.

Running
As the title suggests, the 13th Annual ICC 5K Road Race and Children’s Fun Run on Sunday, September 14 is a ton of fun. Race day beings with the 5K at 9:30 a.m.

After the main race, the fun begins for the kids, with a free Children’s Fun Run at 11 a.m. for children in several categories: U3, U5, U7 and U9.

The post-race party includes a delicious lunch of pasta and salad, with Guinness and other brews on tap for adults 21 and over. Live Irish music will enliven the post-race celebration!
