Welcome to the JFK Library

The John F. Kennedy Presidential Library & Museum is one of Boston’s most popular destinations, and welcomes local residents, school classes, convention groups and visitors from around the world to come and be inspired. Open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the JFK Library sits on a 10-acre site overlooking Boston Harbor and is easily accessible by car or public transportation. 

The JFK Library is one of the nation’s sixteen presidential libraries administered by the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), and is dedicated to John F. Kennedy, the 35th president of the United States. The Library contains primary-source material on the Kennedy Administration and on the life, career, and times of President Kennedy. 

The JFK Museum offers permanent and special exhibits about President Kennedy and his Administration, his family and topical issues of the day. 

In June 2025, JFK Library opens a new exhibit, Presidential Pets. Using objects, photos, letters, recordings, film and interactive display, Presidential Pets is a delightful look at how beloved pets took on roles as workers, companions, trend setters and political tools at the White House beginning with George Washington. Featured Kennedy family pets include Pushinka, the Soviet dog and Leprechaun, the Connemara pony. 

JFK Library also presents a series of events throughout the year, including the Kennedy Library Forum, Celebrate! Family programming, the Earthshot Innovation Challenge and the annual Profile in Courage Award which celebrates the quality of political courage that President Kennedy admired most.
