Lawn on D at South Boston Waterfront Hosts 6 World Cup Watch Parties

BOSTON – The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority (MCCA) announced today the launch of Boston Fan Zone at the Lawn on D, a family-friendly space for guests to watch select FIFA World Cup 2026TM matches. Alongside other enhancements to the Lawn, like the recently announced The Grove at the Lawn on D, the MCCA is pleased to offer free public programming for one of the biggest global events of the summer.

“The Boston Fan Zone at The Lawn on D is all about bringing people together. Whether you’re a lifelong Boston sports fan, visiting our city for the first time or just looking for a fun place to gather with family and friends, this will be a great space to take in a game and enjoy all that Boston has to offer,” said Governor Maura Healey. “We’re grateful to the MCCA for helping to create a destination that captures the energy, excitement and pride that make Massachusetts such a special place and will make the World Cup an unforgettable experience.”

As one of the few Boston-based venues with large scale streaming capabilities, the Lawn on D is uniquely positioned to transform into a dynamic watch party destination. Redefining the Lawn on D for the 2026 season, Boston Fan Zone offers an even more exciting outdoor social experience.

“For 27 days, our city will become an epicenter of the world’s most popular game, and we’re activating beautiful spaces for people to gather and cheer on their favorite teams together,” said Mayor Michelle Wu. “The Boston Fan Zone at Lawn on D is another special venue that offers great amenities and capacity to turn each match into a cherished community celebration, expanding our City’s programming with additional games for all fans.”

Attendees can unwind in the classic lawn setting, engage with lawn games like cornhole, and enjoy concessions as they have in years past, while also experiencing new upgrades available for the first time throughout the Lawn on D.

“The Lawn on D provides green and open space in the South Boston Waterfront to residents and visitors alike,” said State Senator Nick Collins. “We hope that guests from around the globe enjoy this venue as Boston and Massachusetts prepare to help host the 2026 World Cup. Go USA!”

Admission to Boston Fan Zone is free to the public, with complimentary parking available for attendees of the select watch parties.
