Camelot Summers
By Irish Boston Tourism Newsroom
Since it opened in 1992, the JFK Hyannis Museum has given visitors a magical depiction of olde Cape Cod and the Camelot years, when President John F. Kennedy and his family spent their summers basking in the ocean breeze.
That magic continues year round at the JFK Hyannis Museum, where Executive Director Wendy Northcross and her dedicated staff curate the Kennedy legacy on the Cape.
A moving exhibit now on display is “We Remember John F. Kennedy, Jr.,” a loving remembrance of the President and First Lady’s cherished son. Through video, photographs, quotes, text and artifacts, this commemorative exhibit invites visitors to remember John F. Kennedy Jr. who, like his father, had every gift but length of years. The exhibit runs through December 2026.

Another popular exhibit available to view year round is “Presidential Summers: The Kennedys on Cape Cod.” Using archival video, special family images and historical artifacts, Presidential Summers shares fun details about the Kennedy Compound in Hyannisport, sailing on the family boat Victura, enjoying birthday parties and more.
Take a walk on the Kennedy Legacy Trail, a self-guided walking tour which starts at the museum and explores landmarks of historic significance to the Kennedy family through downtown Hyannis.
This spring, the museum unveiled a brand new, updated Kennedy Family Tree Wall that provides a refreshed, clearly presented overview of the Kennedy family lineage.

And finally, visit the museum gift shop for a nice selection of books, paintings, canvas bags and Cape Cod mementos such as scrimshaw, wall clocks and more.
The Museum is located at 397 Main Street, right in the heart of downtown Hyannis and is open year round. Summer hours are Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
