Irish Cultural Centre Names Oliver Garry as New Executive Director
The Irish Cultural Centre of Greater Boston has appointed Oliver ‘Ollie’ Garry as the new executive director. The 61-acre Centre in Canton, MA provides year-round programs for Irish culture, education, sports and heritage.
Garry has been a part of the Centre’s success since it opened in 1999, with 20+ years of volunteer service to the Centre and to the Gaelic Athletic Association, which plays its games there. He has held an active role in community engagement and leadership, dedicating much of his time to promoting Irish heritage through sports, music, cultural events and festivals.
This summer, Garry served as interim executive director at the centre, according to Board Chairman Martina Curtin.
“Having worked closely with Ollie this summer, I saw firsthand his genuine love for the ICC and its community,” Curtin says. “He brings people together, builds relationships and leads with energy and purpose. The Board and I are excited to support Ollie and the entire team in this new chapter.”
Garry’s role as executive director entails expanding the Centre’s programs, strengthening community connections, and welcoming new generations to experience and celebrate Irish culture.
Outside of the ICC, Garry has 40+ years of professional experience in the construction industry. He enjoys golf, traveling home to Ireland to visit family, and spending treasured time with his grandchildren.
