The centerpiece of the celebration is the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in honor of Ireland’s patron saint. It starts at Noon on Tuesday, March 17 at Parnell Square in the north of the city, proceeds down O’Connell Street, over O’Connell Bridge and through south side Dublin, ending at the Cuffe Street/Kevin Street junction. It is a spectacle of joyous sounds of marching bands, bagpipers, party horns, laughter and shouts of glee, along with a colorful display of costumes and pageantry. There are similar St. Patrick’s Day parades all across the island.

Dublin itself is an amazing city worth checking out. Tripadvisor just named Dublin the best city in the world for solo travelers in its 2026 Travelers’ Choice Best of the Best Awards. The ranking is based on traveler reviews and ratings collected over a 12-month period.
