Boston’s Cool Winter Frostival
Winter in Boston just got cooler, thanks to Meet Boston’s inaugural Frostival – a dynamic lineup of winter events and activities from November through February 2026.
Frostival is designed to transform and reimagine winter in Boston, taking the iconic seasonal experiences that the city is known for – holiday lights, ice skating, tree lightings, games at the Garden, live theater and more – and couple them with first-time events such as drone shows over Boston Common, experiential activations on Copley Square, a Ferris wheel on the Rose Kennedy Greenway, and Femme Fête, an exciting wine festival featuring women-owned wineries.
Boston already boasts captivating winter programs – such as Snowport, SoWa Winter Festival, and Winteractive – and these experiences will also be promoted as part of Meet Boston’s winter campaign.
“Winter in Boston has always been magical, and now we have the programming to entice visitors to come see for themselves,” said Meet Boston CEO Martha J. Sheridan. “We’ve been working hard over the past few years to understand the types of winter events that compel people to come and stay overnight, and to develop a version that is uniquely Boston. We are redefining and enhancing our winter seasonal appeal, starting with the holidays but really throughout the entirety of the colder months.”

Programming begins with drone shows over Boston Common every Saturday night from November 29 through December 20, with two shows each Saturday, and drones lifting off from the corner of Boylston and Charles Streets. These displays are designed to complement the festive experiences happening throughout Boston, encouraging visitors to stay later and ideally overnight. Meet Boston is producing this program in partnership with the City of Boston.
Meet Boston is also programming two exciting events in February 2026 – a winter activation on Copley Square and a Ferris wheel on the Rose Kennedy Greenway, both operating between February 6-28. The timing coincides with the 2026 Winter Olympics being held in Italy.
In addition, Meet Boston is a presenting sponsor for an inaugural wine festival at the Cyclorama in Boston’s South End, featuring Femme Fête, a wine & beverage fair, comprised entirely of women-owned wineries, wine makers and sommeliers.
Meet Boston is working with its hotel partners to create overnight packages for Frostival that brings even more value for visitors.
