The Magic of Camelot on Cape Cod
Hyannis Port, Cape Cod was a magical haven for President John F. Kennedy and his family, who loved to vacation there and escape the pressures of public life. The John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum opened in 1992 to keep these fond Kennedy memories alive for visitors and residents alike.
Located at 397 Main Street in downtown Hyannis, the JFK museum offers an insightful portal into the Camelot Years, with ongoing exhibits, author readings, lectures and guided strolls along the Kennedy Legacy Trail, plus special events for seasonal holidays such as Halloween and Christmas.
On Veterans Day, November 11, there’s a wreath laying at the JFK Memorial on nearby Ocean Street, followed by the Flagpole Memorial to WWI veterans in the museum courtyard.
On November 21, authors Nancy Shoemaker and David Martin discuss a new book entitled The Revolutionary War on Cape Cod & the Islands, researched and written by the Cape & Islands Historians Committee.

On November 28, don’t miss the raffle drawing for a Viking European River Cruise for two in 2026.
On December 27, the annual Hyannis Holiday Stroll includes music and children’s gifts in the museum courtyard.
In early 2026, Cape Cod Times photojournalist Steve Heaslip gives a lecture on “Photographing the Kennedys” at Thatcher Hall. Visit the website for details.
An ongoing attraction is “JFK: The Three Miles Documentary” which chronicles President Kennedy’s iconic four-day visit to Ireland in June 1963. And finally, stop by the gift shop and pick up some perfect mementos and gifts for family and friends.
