Boston City Hall Plaza is Fan Fest Headquarters for World Cup Soccer Festivities
Boston City Hall Plaza is the official FIFA Fan Festival site for the FIFA 2026 World Cup in Boston, officials announced today.
The plaza will be the central gathering spot for fans to view matches on giant screens while also being part of a city-wide community celebration. Live entertainment, local food vendors and interactive fan experiences will also be part of the experience. The plaza can accommodate up to 25,000 people.
The FIFA World Cup will feature seven matches at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, and it’s expected to generate $100 million in tax revenue and more than 9,000 jobs, said Martha Sheridan, CEO and president of Meet Boston and an honorary board member of Boston Soccer 2026.
Here’s what you can expect, according to Meet Boston, “Vibrant fan festivals, watch parties at the city’s top spots, and celebrations that spill into every neighborhood. Plus, Boston’s hotels, attractions and restaurants will pull out all the stops to make every moment memorable.”
Among the national teams set to play at Boston Stadium (Gillette Stadium) in Foxborough are Haiti, Scotland, Norway, Morocco, Ghana, England, France and one other team yet to be determined.
