Riverdance Heartland Kick Line

For the past 30 years, generations of girls and boys have taken up Irish step dancing, thanks to Riverdance, one of the world’s most acclaimed theatrical shows.

Riverdance 30 – The New Generation, returns to the Boch Center Wang Theatre in Boston for eight performances from April 8 – 13, 2025.

It was 30 years ago, on February 9, 1995, when Riverdance first debuted to delighted audiences in Dublin, Ireland, presenting a fusion of Irish and international dance that captivated audiences across the world. To celebrate this 30-year milestone, Riverdance’s special anniversary tour rejuvenates the much-loved original show with new innovative choreography and costumes and state of the art lighting, projection and motion graphics.

In keeping with the generational time, Riverdance welcomes for the first time “The New Generation” of performers, none of whom were born when the show began 30 years ago.

Riverdance Director John McColgan says, “It is both a privilege and a delight to celebrate 30 years of Riverdance and the unique journey it has taken us on. In those 30 years the show has transformed from a spectacle into a global cultural phenomenon – continuously evolving yet remaining true to its Irish roots. On this upcoming tour we look forward to welcoming ‘The New Generation’ of artists while paying tribute to the talented performers, creators, dedicated crew, and the millions of fans who have made Riverdance a worldwide celebration of music and dance.”

The Wang Theatre Boch Center is a perfect venue for Riverdance. Celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2025, the Wang first opened as the elegant Metropolitan Theatre, enjoyed by patrons who came to be entertained by motion pictures, big bands and vaudeville. A century later the Theatre remains a centerpiece of the city’s cultural richness and vibrancy.

Audiences will enjoy a unique and memorable Riverdance performance which blends the traditional and the contemporary, showcasing the skill and passion of the world-class dancers, musicians and singers in the Riverdance ensemble. Riverdance is composed by Bill Whelan, produced by Moya Doherty and directed by John McColgan.
