Poet, songwriter, journalist and activist Bill Nevins tackles the world with truth and daring, never flinching from the powers that be, while never surrendering to the notion that “life can be pointless and transient.” He finds deliverance in love, family, community and the power of words.

Nevins grew up in New York and New England, where he got involved in anti-war protests, peace with justice in Northern Ireland and workers’ rights. He lived in Albuquerque from 1996 until recently. He now resides permanently in Taos, New Mexico, where he continues his writing and activism.

The loss of his beloved son, Liam, a US soldier killed in action in Afghanistan in 2013, could have broken him, but instead made him stronger over time, until one day, “realizing with a startle that I am now returned to myself, smiling as my son, very much here in this borderland.”

Nevins is a member of La Raza Unida, The National Writers Union, and Irish-American Writers and Artists.
