$15
Turas, BRT, Cumberland, RI

This is the final concert of the 2025 Take It Outside Concert Series which is held in back of Blackstone River Theatre. Chairs are provided or you can bring your own! In the event of rain in the forecast the concert moves inside. Tickets are also available at the gate.

Turas is the Irish word for “journey” and this group was inspired by the decades of musical journeys of its players who came together to perform an eclectic mix of traditional and current Irish tunes and songs with original arrangements.

The band is led by Bob Drouin, original member and founder of Pendragon, a popular Celtic music group that recorded and toured throughout the Northeast. Bob plays fiddle, banjo, bouzouki and vocals. Josh Kane was also a member of Pendragon and more recently plays with Kevin Doyle’s Roscommon Soles. Josh is an award-winning flute and whistle player as well as a vocalist. Gary Palmer is a 36-year veteran of the Coast Guard who has been performing Irish, Folk and Sea Music on guitar and vocals for decades. Matt Cook is an original member and co-founder of Full Gael in 1996 and has been performing with Gary in various groups and venues for over 25 years. Matt plays uilleann pipes, flute, whistles and vocals. Percussionist Mark Bachand was a member of the historic Kentish Guards Fife & Drum Corps for 20 years and a member of the Healy Fife Consort, considered to be one of the best fife ensembles in the world.
