CIS Presents: A Dinner With Harold Holzer

The Charitable Irish Society and The Union Club of Boston are delighted to co-host a dinner with Professor Harold Holzer, noted Lincoln scholar and author of the recently published book, “Brought Forth on This Continent”.
It is the first book ever to analyze Lincoln’s approach to immigrants and immigration. Professor Holzer will review the Lincoln administration’s careful but principled stance on German, Irish, and other immigrants in America, as well as Lincoln’s evolution into a champion of immigrants and its impact on the Civil War.
The event begins with a cocktail reception at 6:00 p.m., followed immediately by the author’s talk at 7:00 p.m. and dinner in the Club’s Oak Room at 8:00 p.m.
