ICC Presents: Diarmuid Ó Meachair

A native Irish speaker from Cúil Aodha in the Múscraí Gaeltacht, Diarmuid is one of the most exciting accordion players of his generation. Part of the accordion and melodeon teaching staff at the Music Department at UCC, he was awarded the prestigious Young Musician of the year award from TG4 in 2022. He has won many sean nós singing competitions at the Oireachtas na Samhna, Corn Darach Ó Catháin and Corn Seosamh Ó hÉanaigh. He has released 3 solo albums and is a sought after soloist and teacher at various school and festivals. In 2023 he was invited to join the latest De Dannan line up and has played at multiple festivals with the group in Ireland, UK and Europe. Don’t miss this chance to catch him live.
