Irish Easter Rising Ceremony in Scituate

The South Shore Irish Heritage Trail along with the AOH of the South Shore is having its Annual Easter Rising Commemoration at the Easter Rising Monument near Scituate Harbor, followed by a speaking program at St. Mary’s Hall with guest Davy Holden. The event commemorates Easter 1916, when the Proclamation of the Irish Republic was read aloud by Irish patriot Padraig Pearse on the steps of the Dublin Post Office, calling for an Ireland independent from Britain.
