IRISH TRAVEL & CULTURE MAGAZINE
FALL/WINTER 2017-18
It’s hard to decide if Newport is best known for being the Sailing Capital of the World or for its legendary Gilded Age mansions, but this coastal New England enclave offers extraordinary experiences the whole year through. Though summer may steal the spotlight, locals are ready to let you in on a closely guarded secret: the off season is on!
There’s a palpable elation throughout the City by the Sea during Christmas in Newport, a month-long celebration toasting simple traditions of the holiday season. Approaching its 47th year, events are tailored to entertain every age, including festive tree lightings, train rides, historical tours, shopping strolls, concerts and dances, Victorian-era Christmas customs, culinary fêtes, arts and cultural celebrations and more.
