
The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, known simply as the T, is one of America’s oldest public transit systems and the largest transit system in Massachusetts. As a division of Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT), the MBTA provides subway, bus, commuter rail, ferry and paratransit service to eastern Massachusetts and parts of Rhode Island. The ferry service at Boston’s Long Wharf connects to Quincy, Hingham, Hull, Charlestown Navy Yard, Logan Airport in East Boston, Winthrop and Lynn.
