Formally launched on May 22, 2022, the newly created South Shore Irish Heritage Trail (SSIHT) is a fascinating journey into the history and heritage of the Massachusetts Irish community through nine scenic towns South of Boston. The Trail takes you to dozens of landmarks, museums, public parks and cultural venues where the illustrious story of the Irish is displayed.

BLACK VELVET SOIREE

On February 4, 2023, the SSIHT is holding a Black Velvet Soireé Fundraiser at the South Shore Art Center in Cohasset. Supporters, friends and guests will enjoy a night of art and auctions, food and drink, live Irish music and a celebration in support of the Trail.
State Senator Patrick O'Connor and Historian Catherine Shannon, PhD will receive the First Annual Trail Blazer Awards at the Soirée.
The SSIHT is auctioning off a week in August at a 4 bedroom / 2 bath home (sleeps 8) in Kinvara, County Galway. The home is on the southern side of Galway Bay within easy access of Shannon Airport, Bunratty Castle, Limerick City, the Cliffs of Moher, Doolin, Aillwee Cave, Galway City, Connemara and much more along Ireland's stunning Wild Atlantic Way.
